Today I am going to share with you my
HAIR SECRETS!
Not really secrets, just what I use, and WHY!
I'm going to start with Shampoo & Conditioner!
|
Sleek Look by Matrix |
&
|
Color Extend by Redken |
I bounce between these two.
Sleek Look smells heavenly, and it makes your hair so silky smooth.
I use that the most. Its pretty pricey if you buy it from like Target or something. If you have any friends with cosmo
licenses, ask them to get some for you.
Redken Color Extend is really good if your hair fades fast. Mine fades so fast its ridiculous. I've almost given up on having the color stay.
*ALSO*
If you have trouble with your color staying rich, use cold water to wash it. :)
NEXT I USE
{no matter how I style it}
This is a split end mender.
{Use on towel dried hair}
I have really really bad split ends, so this helps a ton!
No matter how I style it!
Now I usually do my hair one of 3 ways.
#1
CURLY {Natural with product}
|
Curly {SCARY NO MAKEUP} |
|
Curly {DARK!} |
|
Curly {LIGHT} |
#2
STRAIGHT
|
Straight.. |
|
Straight {GHOSTLY} |
|
Straight & Newly Engaged ;) |
Or #3
Natural with NO product.
NO blow dryer.
{I only do this if I am going to curl it myself}
**Hair takes shape when it is heated and cooled which is called SET**
Unaltered hair strands stay better!
{If you straighten your hair, THEN curl it, the hair has already been "SET" into straight mode, and has less of a chance to STAY curled}
That's how my hair works anyway. ;)
|
Ha...not me, but that's what it looks like. I wouldn't take a picture of it, but when I do my video tutorials, you will get to see it!! Are you scared? You should be...lol. |
When I do my hair curly, I have certain steps to take to make it look right.
After I use my SPLIT END MENDER on damp hair,
I use
|
Ringlet by Redken |
I've used this for years, and I love it.
THEN
I use my FAVORITE PRODUCT EVER.
|
SMALL TALK by Bed Head |
I could seriously EAT this!
It smells SO GOOD!!
This is a tacky, gooey textured beauty.
It goes with curls SO WELL.
Its kind of like gel, but better.
After I use SMALL TALK,
I spray it with hairspray.
The hairsprays I love are
{I apply on still wet hair}
|
Biosilk |
|
Paul Mitchell |
I try and avoid Aerosol hairspray.
Personally I don't really like it.
I only use it if I am back combing.
{and that's all I use it for}
I go through the layers on each side and spray on the under side.
THEN I diffuse until almost dry.
Then I take the diffuser off and just use the dryer to calm it down a bit.
Then I blow dry my bangs downward to make sure they lay the right way.
I add some back combing to give it some volume, and BAM!
DONE-ZO!
{This seriously takes me like 5-6 Minutes}
STRAIGHT HAIR
is easier, but takes more time for me because
I have to round brush and straighten every piece.
LAME
After I apply my Split End Mender to damp hair
I grab my round brush.
I have a 2in round brush because it shapes it how I like it,
gives it pretty good lift, and its fast.
{sorta}
{you can run to like Sally's and pick one up for cheaper}
Round brushing your own hair is a PAIN.
It kills your arms! Haha.
Round brushing other peoples hair is awesome.
ANYWAY
I get done with the round brushing,
then I start straightening.
I use a CHI
I've used a CHI since I was like 16.
They are great.
You can curl and straighten with a CHI,
and if you keep the box, they have a year warranty!
After my hair is all the way straight, I HATE to back comb.
I have a cone head lol.
Back-combing is a MUST!!
I use a back-combing comb that looks like
this
Since I live in Utah, you all know Utah has HUGE hair.
Well I like HUGE hair, so the bigger the better! Ha!
I back-comb like there is no tomorrow!
I use 1in sections starting in the back on the top.
I do about 3 or 4 layers.
back-combing first then spraying.
{this is what I use aerosol for}
LEAVE IT LOOKING CRAZY TILL YOU ARE DONE!!
NO SMOOTHING YET!
Then I start on the weird parts.
straight up from your parietal bone.
{the bone behind your ears}
After those parts, I go to the sides.
Since I part my hair really far on the right side I start on the left.
{the side with the bigger chunk}
I do about 6 layers.
{remember back-comb first, then spray}
Then do the other side, and
THEN YOU SMOOTH OUT.
And fix where it needs to be fixed!!
TADA!
Now for hand curled hair.
This is pretty much self explanitory.
After your hair has air dried.
I use my CHI to curl, but you can use a curling iron!
{I'm going to need to do a tutorial for this one}
Start at the bottom with a 1inch horizontal section.
I usually just do 1inch by 1inch piece.
Then you spray each piece, but not to much.
Then curl.
and curl
and curl
and curl
and curl till you can't curl anymore!
Back-comb if needed and
BAM!
HOTTIE!!
:)
Well I hope you've enjoyed my secrets!
I will be doing some video tutorials as soon as I can!
Its hard to follow without watching it!
Let me know what tutorial you would like first!!
Curly, Straight, or Hand-Curled!
Feedback is appreciated! :)
