December 22nd, 2009

Hey all..
I knew I wasn’t going to write these as often as I should lol. But I guess it’s a good day to start.

Tyler and I are officially home owners! YaY! Its so much fun to have an actual house! BIG improvement coming from a trailer! But I’m kinda sad, I will definitely miss living there. But I’m super excited to have made that purchase! Now we just have to fix it up. It needs some TLC. Carpets, paint, and not to mention a new kitchen. But in time, we will get it done!

I can not believe it’s almost 2010! 2009 went by way fast. Which is a good thing, because it sucked! 2010 better be awesome or I’m gonna freak out! Lol. I have big plans for you, 2010, so you better rock.

1: I plan to start my healthy lifestyle again, and be down to the weight that I want to be. It will take some work for sure, but I am totally willing to do it! I’m going to go on a high protein, low carb/low cal diet. Hopefully it will work. I’ve been thinking about getting gastric bypass, but I would need to pack on some pounds before I could even think about it. But like that is associated with weight loss, there is no solution other than a lifestyle change. Anyway personally I think gastric is cheating. Not saying I don’t think people need it, or that people who get it, are horrible. I just think I am totally capable of doing it myself. With no help from any kind of surgery. (we will see about that come April lol)

2: I plan to start this budget system that will help us get out of debt quick. I know what your thinking, budget = eating saltine crackers and drinking only water. BUT you’re wrong. I have a suggestion for everyone. Pick up the book Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey. Its great. I’ve learned so much from it!

3: I plan to make a Bucket List. My list will consist of things like skydiving, scuba diving, going to Africa, running in a marathon, visit Paris, London, New Zealand, and Egypt. I have a lot of things that I want to do in my life, I might as well make a list so I can have something to check off as I go .

4: I plan to convert a room in my downstairs into a salon, WITH a tanning bed..I have so many ideas of what I want to do with it. I’m way excited! First off, I have to take out a fake fireplace that is in that room. (why would you waste your time making a fireplace if you can’t use it) It’s just a brick wall with a hole in it. Lol. Give me a sledge hammer and I will have some fun with that. Anyone wanna help with the demolition?

5: Fifth and final plan (that I can think of right now) is to get things going with a few home businesses I want to get going. Which, one day, I would like to, lead to me owning my own boutique, which will have a lot of random things, but mostly focus on home décor. I’m way excited for that.

After listening to the new Paramore CD, Brand New Eyes, I have fallen in love, unconditionally, with one certain song. The song is called The Only Exception.

It totally defines me on LOVE…
I was young when my parents split, along with a bunch of my other friends. After my relationships throughout the years and having numerous broken hearts, I questioned my belief in “Love” Until I met my Husband, the only exception. 

When I was younger
I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart
And I watched
As he tried to reassemble it
And my momma swore that
She would never let herself forget
And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love
If it does not exist

But darlin'

{Chorus}
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

{Verse 2}
Maybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways
To make it alone
Or keep a straight face
And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable, distance
And up until now
I had sworn to myself that I'm content
With loneliness
Because none of it was ever worth the risk

{Chorus}
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

{Bridge}
I've got a tight grip on reality, but I can't
Let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving in the morning, when you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream

{Chorus}
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
[X2]

And I'm on my way to believing
Oh, and I'm on my way to believing

When Paramore comes to town, I’m definitely going to see them. They are awesome!

For now I think I am done. I’m going to try to get some pictures of the house up. Too bad I didn’t get pictures of the laundry room before we tiled it. Anyway, as soon as I get my computer all set up, I will be posting pictures! 

On to the next…

HeLLo WoRLd! :)

So today I decided that I am going to join the blogging world! I’m way excited about it. I love sharing my experiences with everyone, ranting about the things I dislike, and gossiping about random things. At least it’s sort of a way to document what has gone on in my life. With my many failed attempts in keeping a journal, I hope I can stick with this. It will be interesting to look back at everything a few years from now!
So now I am going to tell you a little about myself, and my little family. I was born December 1st 1987, which makes me 22 on Tuesday! I have 11 siblings (lol I know what you’re thinking, let me explain) While my parents(Drew and Lori) were married, they had Zach, me, and Conner. After splitting up, My mom (Lori) got re-married to my step-dad (Jay) and then came Lance, Talon and India. My dad (Drew) got remarried to my step-mom (Kathryn)a few years later. Kathryn had 3 kids already, Morgan, Adam, and Brian. Then together, My dad and Kathryn had Mandi. Zach is married now, so Mindy is my sister-in-law. Morgan is married to Alex so there’s a borther-in-law, and Tyler has 1 sister. Brittney so there is another sister-in-law. Making my sibling count at 11! :)
I went to school in Roy my whole life, starting at Paige’s Preschool, then to Midland, Sandridge, and then on to Roy High. During my senior year at Roy, I attended, and graduated from Stacey’s Hands of Champions Beauty College. Hair school was a challenge for me. I don’t really get along with all the prissy, ‘like OMG’ girls, and the majority of the girls that go there, are in fact, those kinds of girls. But during my time at Stacey’s, I met some great friends, and some people that I’d love to choke out. (not very many of them) I learned so much from there, but decided to not pursue a career in cosmetology. I work as an accounting assistant with my step-dad at his company, and I like my job, just not some of the people I work with. This comes with every job.
I was married on May 31st, 2008 to my backbone, my best friend, my everything, Tyler Douglas. We started dating our junior year in high school and have been inseparable since. Tyler is 1 month and 15 days younger than I am, making his birthday January, 16th 1988. He moved to Roy the summer of 7th grade and attended Sandridge and Roy High. Tyler works at the IRS lol so watch out. He only has 1 sister Brittney, and his parents are still married. We were just acquaintances the first year of high school and had a bunch of classes together, and we were just friends then. Our Junior year we got put in the same math class. We were friends so we sat next to each other. After developing a mad crush on him, and remembering that he was dating one of my friends from elementary, I just left it. One day while I was at a JV football game secretly watching him, I needed to leave. So I went thru the school to get to my locker, when I saw this lady wandering around. She came up to me and asked me how to get to the bathroom. We talked small talk while we were walking when I asked her who she was watching. She replied “I’m watching my son Tyler Douglas, do you know him?” My exact words.. “oh my gosh I LOVE Tyler! We’re in math together!! He is awesome!!” She said “you must be Jaimie, he has told me about you!” Which was weird...because I really liked him. So I blushingly asked what he had said, and she told me that he said that we have so much fun in math together. So she went to the bathroom and that was it.
The next day a couple friends and I went down to Sandridge to help out their softball team. While I was down there helping out, this girl came up to me and asked if my name was Jaimie. I said yeah and she told me that she was Tyler’s sister, and that he had a huge crush on me. We talked for a while and I told her that she should tell him that I like him too.. about a month later we hung out with our friends Stacy and Colton. We had a very adventurous night of tipping over port-a-potties and driving around in Colton’s eclipse, and after a night of adventures, we have been inseparable ever since! :)
We were together for 3 years, 6 months, 23 days before we got married. Tyler proposed to me on November 8th at 1:04am, after I got home from picking him up from work, in his driveway because he could not wait till later in the day to do it. I had NO clue. We immediately went to my mom’s house, and my dad’s house to let everyone know. P.s. they didn’t care it was so late! :) We were married at Lomond View Gardends and Reception Center. It was beautiful! ♥ We live in East Layton in a trailer (I know what you’re thinking lol) But Hey, it’s a start. It’s better than living in parent’s basement. Lol. Shortly after we were married, Tyler continued working swing-shift and I worked during the day. I was home alone every night, and I got freaked out all the time, which led me to our other member of our family, Titan. After making a decision to get a dog, rather than have a baby at the time, Titan came into our lives.
Titan was born May 17th 2008 (the only reason I remember, is because it’s one of my best friends birthday and the day after my brother’s birthday) Titan is a pure-bread Great Dane. He has beautiful blue eyes, with white and grey fur, making him what they call Merle. Don’t let his size fool you! He is such a loving, caring dog. He is very well behaved due to the classes we took him to when he was a puppy. What a great investment. $100 later he is fantastic. He know’s all sorts of tricks. He sits, stays, lays down, speaks, shakes, leaves whatever you say to leave, and lets just say we are so happy that we spent that $100 on him. If anyone is looking for puppy classes, give Don’s Pet Care a call. They are amazing.
We are looking forward to purchasing our first house in the next couple months! We are really excited, and can’t wait to see what our future holds 

On another note..I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off. There are so many things going on right now I could just spew.

1- Tyler and I are getting things ready to purchase our own house! Not to mention I am terrified at the fact that I am going to be 22 on Tuesday and I am buying a house. But you know, nobody is ever really ‘ready’ for anything they do. (in my world anyways) The house is located in Ogden, above Harrison Blvd. It needs some exterior work for sure, and we will have our hands full for sure for a while! I’m excited to say that it has a yard for Titan to run around and be a normal dog. He will be as grateful as we are to finally be out of the trailer. The house has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and I have something planned for every single room lol. I am really looking at putting my own little hair salon in the basement, and I’m way excited that it looks like it will be happening. For a while I’ve been out of the ‘hair scene’, but I’m excited to say..”IM BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN!” <--Well not yet anyways. I have some fun and interesting ideas of how I am going to furnish the house. I’m keeping it a secret until it is finished though.
2- I am trying to get a couple stores going through a site I love called Etsy.com. There are endless possibilities of what I could do, but I just have to remember to take one step at a time. I tend to overload myself. Which sometimes is not a bad thing.
3- Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and although I hate the thought of celebrating a holiday by stuffing your face all day, I just like the company it brings. There is no hype of what present should I get this person, it’s mostly about the company of your family, and well of course, eating. Eating really bothers me..in my mind, eating=obese. When really it’s just my poor eating habits that have caused me to be on the ‘generous’ side. Which brings me to another point.
4- DIETING…along with most every woman, I’m on a 24-7-365 diet. That doesn’t always work to my advantage. I’m excited to be starting P90X again soon, and begin my love/hate relationship with running. I hate running with a fiery burning passion. Is it weird that one thing on my bucket list is to run in a marathon? Yeah sounds a little masochistic to me.
5- There really are a million things I have to do, but I don’t want to take the time to list them all…lol

Tonight we are going to look at the house, and i am so excited!

Tomorrow we have a whole day of running around. First to The Price's at 12:00 in Roy, then out to Trent and Tammy's in North Ogden at 3:00, then to The Douglas' in Hooper at 4:30, then out to The Bloxham's in Harrisville at 6:00! That's making me tired just typing it! Wish us luck!! :)
